The School of Public Health offers seven programs that lead to a UIC Campus certificate. Students in these programs receive academic credit which may be applied toward a degree if the student later chooses to pursue one. Successful completion of a certificate program does not guarantee admission to any of the degree granting programs in the School. For more information about SPH certificate programs, see the Academic Certificate Student Handbook 2018-2019.
Basic Community Public Health Practice Certificate
Effective Fall 2016 admission to this certificate is suspended pending curriculum revisions.
The Basic Community Public Health Practice Campus Certificate (Basic CPHP) targets individuals with a bachelor's degree who are currently working in community, public health or other related fields and whose current or future position requires skills in applying a breadth of knowledge and expertise in assessing and addressing health problems in the community.
This certificate program in community health is offered entirely online and furthers the university's commitment to training public health professionals by offering courses to public health practitioners and students in other health professions who are not able to pursue a graduate public health degree.
