Telpochcalli Community Education Project (TCEP), a non-profit community-based organization that serves Little Village, is working to build the capacity of academia and the community to best engage with communities. Community researchers will share their perspectives on research and provide tangible recommendations for researchers and students who conduct community-engaged research.

Target Audience: SPH researchers

Lewis-Burke Associates LLC, the University of Illinois’ Washington-based federal research, healthcare, and education consulting firm, will discuss federal opportunities to support public health faculty at federal agencies. The discussion will help faculty in the School of Public Health connect their research goals with federal research trends and identify programs and priorities at federal agencies in order to help identify funding opportunities and/or help make grant and fellowship applications more competitive. The panel will not only explore funding opportunities at the Department of Health and Human Services, but also expand to other agencies including the National Science Foundation, Department of Defense, and Department of Justice
